One Last Time

One Last Time
Matthew Kushi – 2017

Looking back, calendar pages on the floor,
I wish that I had said more
Instead of watching you walk out of that door
For the last time.

Didn’t know that you would be gone so soon –
Left to touch the moon.
My love for you was always there.
Did I tell you how much I cared?

Did you know how much I loved you?
I loved you more than you would know
And my lone last wish is that I had let it show.
Tears in my eyes, you’re gone forever.
I’d give everything I own to see you one more time.
I want to tell you that I love you again
And look into your eyes one last time.
I am forever haunted
Knowing that I didn’t call you and tell you
That I loved you
One last time.

I want to pick up the phone
And call you one last time –
Hear that sweet and tender voice
Once more.

When you love someone,
Love them with all that you have
And make sure that they know
Just how much you care.
Let your love show
For you never know
When it will no longer be there.
